Western diet and acne

Acne, a widespread problem in youngsters, is caused by a combination of factors that include hormone stimulation, production of irritating fatty acids by certain bacteria, stress, and poor diet. Acne is known to occur due to the overproduction of the oil in the sebaceous glands of the skin.

Food is a major cause of acne. Whatever you consume determines your possibility of getting acne. Eat the wrong foods and you will never clear your skin. Oils and fats can play a huge role in developing acne. Refined carbohydrates and fats trigger an overproduction of insulin in the body. Insulin controls hormone production and high levels of certain hormones trigger acne. On the other hand; increased water intake, eliminating fried foods and hydrogenated fats from the diet, and taking extra vitamin A and zinc often help to flush the toxins from your system and reduce acne outbreaks.

Type of fat and acne

The type of fats in the diet is a key factor for acne control. Sugar and hydrogenated salmon and flax seeds oils compete are the most ingredients that are part of almost everything that we consume. Some common food sources for trans fatty acids or hydrogenated oils include bread, cookies, crackers, chips, pies, French fries, pizzas, peanut butter, cake frosting, candy, ice cream and many other breakfast foods. Refined sugar and dietary saturated fats promote acne outbreaks and inflammation. Eliminating these culprits as much as possible from your diet will help decrease acne formation.

What exactly are hydrogenated oils?

Hydrogenated oils are actually made by bubbling hydrogen through a cheap vegetable oil, such as soybean oil. These oils cause a cell-by-cell failure of the human body by destroying the porosity and flexibility of healthy cell membranes. Therefore it is advised to avoid the omega-6 fats of vegetable oils such ascorn oil, safflower oil, soybean oil, cottonseed oil. They are also known to promote inflammation during acne breakouts. Instead it is ideal to supplement the diet with the omega-3 fats found in. They remove free radicals from the body, and help with the body’s ability to fight bacteria and infection. Foods that are high in Omega 3 include most fish, walnuts, avocados, and flax seed.

Hydrogenated oils and acne

Hydrogenated oils are also known to decrease brain activity and also inhibit the absorption of good healthy oils. These acids are one of the most toxic wastes that can be inside your body. On consuming good fats, the hydrogenated oils are not immediately replaced with the good fats. It takes a few days of not eating hydrogenated oils to get a single serving out of your system. These oils have no place at all in the diet of the acne sufferer. They must be eliminated immediately to improve acne. The best oils to replace these fats are the natural oils such as olive oil, cod liver oil, and coconut oil as well as nuts and seeds.

Thus changing your diet is an effective natural acne remedy and you will soon start seeing signs of improvement.
