Nodular Acne
Nodular acne is a severe type of acne vulgaris. Nodules are very similar to papules, they are tender bumps with a hard core, larger in size and usually red, painful and deeply lodged under the skin. Inflammation implies a bacterial infection, which means that the lesions have bacterial proliferation in addition to oil and dead skin cells.
Nodular acne pimples are very sensitive to the touch. Any attempt to break these nodular pimples is not recommended, as it will leave acne scars in most cases.
