What to Avoid when using Benzoyl Peroxide
* Avoid using retinoid creams while under benzoyl peroxide acne treatment. Using two strong creams simultaneously will aggravate your skin condition. * Avoid Chemical Peels or any acne treatment that is primarily directed towards skin peels while using benzoyl Peroxide * Avoid using other topical creams or gels in the same area at MINIMUM for a couple hours to avoid irritations... * Avoid area's that are very dry, or are wounded, cut, or area's of eczema, Sun burn, alcohol, windburned. * Avoid eyes, lips, nasal mucosa, inner ear, mouth (Do not taste it!) * Avoid contact with colors because benzoyl peroxide will bleach * Avoid anything that can irritate the skin, such as makeup, abrasive soaps... at least for a couple hours after acne treatment. Benzoyl peroxide acne treatment should also not be attempted if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The FDA has placed benzoyl peroxide under category C, suggesting it may cause harm to a fetus or breastfeeding baby. Despite being used by so many acne sufferers, benzoyl peroxide if used incorrectly can be harmful. In its pure form, it is a powerful chemical that is toxic and a known cancer-inducing agent. This is the reason why benzoyl peroxide is usually prescribed in much more diluted creams.
Side Effects of Benzoyl Peroxide Acne Treatment:

Many users report skin dryness and flaking, which can sometimes be obsessive. Burning sensation and redness has also been reported.
